A place to gather.
A landscape with form.

Hardscaping is the built foundation of an outdoor space. It defines where you walk, sit, gather, and garden—and works alongside the planting that softens it.

Talk through your ideas

Fire pit areas

Give evenings outside a natural gathering place. A circular block fire pit can become the focus of a backyard, with room around it planned for seating and movement. Tell us about the space, the look you like, and how you want to use it.

Landscape & retaining walls

Create a more defined edge between lawn, beds, and outdoor living areas. From stepped landscape block to natural stone, the right approach depends on the shape of the property and the purpose of the wall. We start by discussing your site and the work involved.

Stone borders & outdoor spaces

Bring texture and definition to the yard with stonework that suits the setting. Have a path, patio, or a larger outdoor area in mind? Share the full idea so we can review the scope, materials, and how it could work with your existing landscape.

Your hardscaping questions

Good questions.
A clearer starting point.

What is hardscaping?

Hardscaping is the built part of your outdoor space: stone, block, walls, fire pit areas, patios, paths, and other features that give a landscape its shape. Softscaping adds the living elements, such as plants and trees. The two work together to make a yard feel complete.

What hardscaping projects can I ask HB Lawncare about?

Start with the fire pit areas, landscape block walls, and natural stone features shown on this page. If you are planning a patio, walkway, or another outdoor improvement, include that in your request so we can discuss the scope and confirm whether it is a fit.

How much does hardscaping cost?

An estimate depends on the size and complexity of the project, the materials, site preparation, access, and any existing features that need to be removed or worked around. Send a few photos and rough dimensions for a useful starting point. Your quote should reflect your property and the agreed scope.

Can you help with a retaining wall or a sloped yard?

Send photos of the slope, the approximate height and length of the proposed wall, and any drainage concerns. Wall projects vary substantially, so the site and scope need to be reviewed before we can confirm the work. Include photos of an existing wall if you are looking to replace or change it.

Do I need a design before requesting an estimate?

No. Start with how you want to use the space and what you would like to change. Photos, a rough sketch, approximate measurements, and examples of styles you like can help us understand your ideas.

Where do you provide hardscaping services?

HB Lawncare is based in Columbia, Tennessee, and serves surrounding Middle Tennessee communities, including Spring Hill, Thompson’s Station, Mount Pleasant, and Culleoka. Share the project address so we can confirm availability for your location and the work you have in mind.

Can hardscaping be combined with planting or outdoor lighting?

Yes, you can discuss those ideas together. HB Lawncare also offers landscaping, softscaping, and landscape lighting. Mention the full project in your request so the different elements can be considered together.

What happens after I submit a request?

Your request starts the conversation. We will follow up about your ideas, the property, availability, and the next steps for an estimate. Submitting the form does not automatically confirm an appointment or a project start date.
